SUNDARBANS The silence islands (56 mn)

At the heart of Ganges Delta, hardly anyone ventures to the Silence Islands. Yet, the forgotten people of the sundurbans archipelago still survive there. With limited ressources consisting of shrimps, rice and wild honey, they face malaria, tuberculosis, cyclones, wild beasts and indifference. Appalled by their distressing condition, one of them, Mohammed Abdul Wohab, gave everything up to take care of this cast-off community. From Island to Island, the "City of Joy 1" brings to light the endurance and bravery of a population that is no longer left alone.

Diary of a Dumont d'Urville winterer

Twenty six people lived together for a year in Dumont D’Urville in Terre Adelie. A full year cycle, from summer to winter, in the cold antarctic continent, lived with overwinterers of the 55th French polar mission, with complete autonomy. All these they endured to ensure scientific programs and sustainability of the permanent base, in a sumptous environment.

In the foosteps of Saint-Thomas

In South India, and particularly in Kerala, the origins of the christian communities date back to the evangelisation by the apostle Thomas, who, according to tradition, landed on the Malabar coast in 52 A.D.
Later, those communities were linked to the Church of the East ( also called the Nestorian church, and later the Chaldean church). Having converted to the roman catholicism , they rebelled; from this time on, they split off into a number of groups: they divided into a roman catholic group and another group linked with the Syrian orthodox Church having Antiocha as the patriarchal headquarters.
